Kayla's Soap Workshop

At this wokshop Gayle provides everything you need.  You are encouraged to wear clothes you don’t mind getting an oil stain on. Gayle has limited aprons, bring one if u have one.  We will be using recipe that includes Palm Shortening , Coconut Oil and Olive Oil.  We will discuss options of recipes, rendering your own fats from animals, blending of scents and many other tricks and trades of making cold processed handmade bar soap.

There are 2 options for you to participate. A full mold and a half mold.

Full Mold - Cost is $80.00.  This is for 40 oz. of soap (12-14 bars depending on how you choose to cut them).

Half Mold  - Cost is $40.00. This is for 20 oz. of soap (6-8 bars depending on how you choose to cut them).

The cost covers the product you take home, a packet of information on making soap at home and the 2 ½ hours of instruction. The product you take home is your customized handmade bar soap.  Details below.

Gayle makes one huge pot of raw soap and each student gets their pour off of it and then gets to customize their smaller pot full to their liking. Gayle provides a HUGE variety of Essential Oils and Fragrance Oils, many options of natural and manmade colorants as well as a variety of exfoliants in case you prefer a scrubby bar. This is a 2 day workshop as the soap has to sit over night. If you can't attend on day 2 to cut your soap Kayla and Gayle will make sure you get your soap.

Age 13 and older only. Lye, Sodium Hydroxide, is used and there are safety concerns.
